Saudi Arabia celebrated its National Day on 14 Muharram. Corresponding to 23rd September each year, it marks the unification of the Kingdom and its establishment by His Majesty King Abdul Aziz Bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud.
For five days from 19th September, the Kingdom celebrated the 89th National Day. All across the country there were national parades and fireworks with a huge variety of more than 70 street entertainments. Millions of people enjoyed fireworks, national music performances and art exhibitions.
The world renowned Cirque du Soleil performed a show especially designed for the Saudi National Day at Dhahran Expo.
In the capital, Riyadh, events included an air show by the Saudi Hawks Aerobatic Squadron, the main demonstration team of the Royal Saudi Air Force.
In the same week Saudi Arabia formally announced that tourist visas will be issued for the first time to visitors from 49 countries around the world.< Back
