With so many beauty salons in Kuwait, it’s essential to stand out from the crowd. But Noura AlShayeji knows there’s more to success than a unique selling point – teamwork is equally important.

Since I was little girl I always wanted to have my own business. The salon is my dream come true.
What challenges have you faced and how have you overcome them?
In Kuwait there are more than four-thousand salons so the competition is hard. However, I have my own line of hair extensions so that’s how I am unique.
How did you create a team of cutting-edge beauty experts?
With team work and training courses. Also I encouraged feedback from friends and family to identify any mistakes and then worked out how to fix them.
What services are offered at your salon?
All hair treatments, nail treatments and hair extensions.
What makes your salon unique?
It’s not a regular salon. It’s a beauty studio inspired by modern, industrial New York.
Describe your salon in a sentence?
The perfect escape from the city to enjoy the bay view.
What drives you to success?
What are the perks of owning your own business?
I have more responsibility and more social enjoyment.
What is the biggest obstacle or challenge you face today?
Nothing! I’m trying to make everything positive.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?

What advice would you give someone who wants to own their own salon?
Work hard now and you will relax later.
