Iconic Product Of The Month

ARMANI Luminous Silk Foundation

As the old proverb says, ‘Old love never dies’. This is exactly the kind of love I feel for this foundation. Beauty products come and go but luckily this foundation stays; and why shouldn’t it? It was launched in 2000 when fashion designer Mr. Armani, together with uber successful make-up artist Pat McGrath, decided to create this creamy but lightweight formula that feels as exclusive as the clothes brand.

Today, many brands create shades for all different skin tones but a few years back it wasn’t that common and with Pat’s background – having a Jamaican mother growing up in the North of London where make-up was designed only for fair British women – she had to magically mix and match colours to create the right shade. With that in mind she made sure to develop all different kinds of shades. Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is one of the few (if not the only one) to cover the whole spectrum with 24 different shades, from a fair neutral shade to the most deep intense warm colour.

This foundation obviously deserves to be the Iconic Product of the Month in CP Magazine as it is one of the most versatile products in any make-up artist’s kit. It’s perfect for everyday use, for a night out when you wear heavier make-up, or for a special occasion like a wedding. It photographs very well and its dewy finish makes any skin glow without looking oily.

This base can be applied with your fingers or with a brush giving light strokes in the direction of your facial hair growth, to create a more fresh and natural kind of  look – that ‘I just woke up like this’ look. It’s also perfect for a more built-up look using a wet beauty blender and by adding layers.
