The Newest Landmark of Manhattan Style in Riyadh
The northern part of Riyadh has become a new luxury gateway to multinational businesses and leisure facilities in the capital of Saudi Arabia. The new 5-star Fairmont Hotel and Convention Center welcomes guests from the Gulf region along with more distant international visitors. A key centerpiece of the business community in Riyadh, the Fairmont is the closest luxury hotel to the King Khalid International Airport – a mere 15-minute drive away.
My experience of staying at this fabulous hotel began with the elegant arrival on the ramp of the grand entrance. My car was carefully parked, my luggage was taken to my room and, before I could proceed beyond the reception, I was able to enjoy dates with fresh Arabic coffee. As a business traveller I gave my attention specifically to the Business Suites with decoration inspired by the dramatic and stylish cities of Manhattan and Chicago. The technically equipped bedrooms with dedicated office and private living area, ensure the hotel is a superb choice for business travellers.
The hotel, abundant with elegant space, provides 298 luxurious guest rooms, each with hints of contemporary glamour in the design. Designed by the world-renowned, LW Designer Group, bespoke elements throughout the hotel focus on combining local culture with luxurious furnishings and textures. Fairmont Riyadh also features strong geometric patterns and unique design motifs to create a confident and modern atmosphere that establishes a distinctive sense of place.
After a long working day, returning to the spacious bath and shower in the hotel room is most rewarding in personal comfort and became my ideal preparation for the multitudes of international dining flavours awaiting me.
During my stay I was able to enjoy the variety of foods and beverages in The 365 restaurant. An evening at The 365 is a true culinary journey. I was overwhelmed by the sights, sounds and smells of unique cuisines presented in an engaging and interactive theater of open kitchens. Whether you are looking for Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Indian or Brazilian you will find the essence captured at The 365. Be it the Dim Sum chef quietly steaming the Seafood Dim Sums, or the Chef at the Brazilian buffet awaiting to showcase the raw meats for your steaks, there is every opportunity for you to meet and interact with the chefs who are constantly working to customize every specific need.
I can’t wait to return to the hotel and try their future dining options including the The House of Grill, which offers a fine dining steak experience and Pesto that brings the authentic flavours of southern Italy to the Kingdom.
At the end of your day, the Fairmont Hotel will host you at the Gentlemen’s Tonic Spa with its state-of-the-art Fitness Center, including a heated grand indoor pool with intricate and tranquilising architecture.
Upon my departure I began to feel that I would like to return that evening and, someday soon, I shall.
